Etymology: From dent-de-lion (literally "lion's tooth"), also in (term, dens leonis, dÄns leÅnis). The term has since died out in France, but compare Spanish diente de león, Italian dente di leone, Portuguese dente-de-leío, and also German Líwenzahn, all having the same literal meaning.
