noun etymology Latin - the will set in order. Christian Theological statement that YHWH while having the power to choose to do anything, having chosen something has also chosen to end his ability to do otherwise (because his perfect wisdom has lead him to that choice, his perfect holiness has chosen the most just path, and since he is perfect his choice is perfect). This is in contrast to voluntas simplex, the belief that YHWH being all-powerful is free to choose to do whatever he wants at anytime. The theory of voluntas ordinata leaves open YHWH"s freedom to choose among different means to bring about his chosen goal (which alone is unchangeable).
