noun
  1. A strong feeling of displeasure, hostility or antagonism towards someone or something, usually combined with an urge to harm.
verb
  1. To cause such a feeling of antagonism.
Etymology: Old English anger, angre (affliction, anger) < Icelandic angr (affliction, sorrow); akin to Danish anger (regret), Swedish anger (regret), Old English ange (oppressed, sad), Latin angor (a strangling, anguish), angere (to strangle), Greek (to strangle), Sanskrit amhas (pain), and to (anguish, anxious, quinsy), and perhaps awe (ugly). The word seems to have originally meant "to choke", "squeeze".
