English
Etymology
From Middle English, from Old French qualite, from Latin qualitatem, accuative of qualitas, from qualis (of what kind), from Proto-Indo-European pronominal base *kwo- ("who", "how"). Cicero coined qualitas as a calque to translate the Greek word ÏοιÏÏÎ·Ï ("quality"), coined by Plato from Ïοá¿Î¿Ï ("of what nature", "of what kind").
