Complete Definition of "path"

English

Etymology
Old English pæþ, from West Germanic *paþa-, of uncertain origin, but perhaps an early borrowing from an Iranian language (Avestan pɑntɑ (nominative), pɑθɑ (genitive) way, Old Persian pɑthi-), in which case it would be derived from the same Indo-European root as English find). Cognate with Dutch pad#Dutch|pad, German Pfad.
