Usage notes
Used throughout the East Midlands and South Yorkshire, plus other isolated spots in the North.

In common use in most of Leicestershire, Rutland and the part of Lincolnshire close to these. It is used frequently in the city of Nottingham, (but may not be in use in most of Nottinghamshire except for that area of north Nottinghamshire which abuts South Yorkshire). Also used throughout Derbyshire, and Derby city particularly. Mardy is also used in the southern part of South Yorkshire. There is then a gap of about twenty miles (heading north) before it comes into use once more.

Its usage is notably declining in the MTV generation. although remains widely used amongst Nottingham children and teenagers, 2006)
